Son is a full-time student (resident of Nevada) attending college in Kansas and earned $14,000 in Kansas. Will he pay Kansas State tax?

Do residents filing in the state they worked pay more taxes than nonresidents do?

If he earned money in KS, he is subject to KS income tax on those earnings.

The KS tax rate is the same for non-residents and residents.
