Sales tax deduction

I paid a lot of sales tax in Virginia related to my daughter's wedding there. I live in Tennessee. Can I claim the Virginia sales tax?

When entering sales tax items, you can use only your own state and local sales tax rate where you lived.

If you paid a higher rate for the wedding related items in Virginia, you can include only what the tax would have been using your state and local tax rate. To enter the sales tax, follow these steps.
