Rhode Island Wages and Salaries question?

I live in MA and work in a hybrid situation in RI roughly 50% of the time, employer is in RI.  The other 50% is working out of my home in MA.  One employer.  My Box 16 State wages includes lines for both states, each being by total wage and salary amount.  For the RI state question….enter the portion of your (double salary amount) in wages and salaries that you earned from RI sources.  If no amount applies, enter 0.  It is prefilled to my actual total salary amount. Is this what I enter here?

The next question asks if my income has been allocated between the states on my W2.  Yes/no (I assume ‘No’ as they are both the full salary amounts (when combined, they are double).  If answering ‘No’ I then get the first question again?

To add a bit to @ThomasM125 's answer:  RI can tax only the income you earned from work you physically carried out within RI.  Your home state of MA can tax all your income. including the portion you earned in RI.

MA will credit you for the taxes paid to RI on the portion of your income taxed by both states.  The credit in effect prevents double taxation, which is prohibited.

With TurboTax, complete the non-resident RI tax return before the MA tax return, so that the program can correctly calculate and apply the credit.

For the Rhode Island state question, enter the wages earned while you worked in Rhode Island.

You should answer no to the question regarding your wages being allocated on your W-2 form. When you get the first question again, enter the same answer as before.
