Part year residence question. We lived in Maine from January - May in 2021, and then again in November-December. However, I don't see a way to indicate that in the form

We lived in Maine from January - May in 2021, and then again in November-December. However, I don't see a way to indicate that in the form as it only gives me the option to enter one date range

State tax forms are not set up for ”sandwich” residencies so you’ll generally have to adjust the dates to match the amount of time you spent in a state.

 

Some states use the number of days or months as part of the tax calculation. Maine does not so you can either extend your first residency by a month or leave the month out. It will not impact your ME tax calculation.
