PA is asking for rev775. What happens if I can't get the appropriate paperwork from my employer and the deduction is denied?

I'm not so much worried about the actual paperwork that I need. I'm asking what happens after the deduction is denied as a "what if" possibility.

If you don't supply the appropriate paperwork, then they will simply recalculate your return without the deduction for employee expenses.  Depending on your tax situation now, that would mean either they would send you a bill for the additional amount of tax owed due to the disallowed deduction, or they would subtract that amount from any refund you are expecting and send you the remaining refund.
