Other Taxable Income- TP is popping up in the Federal Review. How am I supposed to know what to write in with no help indicator? Thank you.

The only thing I can think of is that in the Wages & Income section, I have -$973 in Capitol Loss Carryover for crypto I filed last year, with a total of $1,393 total capital losses used in 2022. If that is what's triggering Other Taxable Income- TP, do I write in -973, to relate to line 12 where it says "12Other taxable income: Crypto"?

Other Income is usually associated with an enty on line 8 of Form 1040 Schedule I. You can see that schedule in TurboTax and it may give you a clue as to what is being asked for as follows:

 

You can view your form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3 while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:

 

  1. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu bar
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Look under Other Helpful links….
  4. Choose View Tax Summary
  5. Look in the left menu bar and choose Preview my 1040
  6. Scroll down the page to see form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3
