Oregon Form 10 Not Displaying Estimated Tax Payments

I made my required four estimated tax payments to the state of Oregon in 2020. I entered these payments into TurboTax. When I print the OR-10 form, it puts "See Stmt*" on lines 14, 19, 24, and 29. It does not populate the date, amount, and running balance. It worked properly last year when I completed my 2019 taxes. As a test, I entered all of my information into TaxAct and it properly populated the OR-10 form. Obviously, I can just file using TaxAct since it did everything correctly, but I would prefer to use TurboTax since I have always used it since I moved to Oregon. Is this a known issue that is actively being worked on? Is there an estimated date when this will be fixed? Thank you.

Please note that I am using the IRS Free File Program delivered by TurboTax in case this problem is specific to this version of TurboTax.

There doesn't appear to be any issue with the Free File version you're using.

Please try one or both of the procedures below.

With TurboTax open, you can either:

Click Pick up where I left off

Click Federal

Click Deductions & Credits

Answer any questions appropriately until you get to Did you make any estimated tax payments? and click the Yes, I did box

Continue to answer appropriately until you get to the Your tax breaks page

Scroll down to Estimated Tax Payments and click Start or Review

You'll see State estimated taxes for 2020

Click Start or Edit to enter your information

OR

Click Pick up where I left off in TurboTax Online, type estimated tax payments into the search box, and click the Jump to estimated tax payments link.

When taxes aren't withheld from the income you receive, making quarterly estimated tax payments can help you avoid paying a big tax bill or an underpayment penalty in April.

Thank you for your very detailed reply. I had already entered my Oregon quarterly estimated tax payments (and just now confirmed it using the instructions you provided), but they are (still) not flowing to the OR-10 form for some reason.

I played around with this a little bit. I reduced all of my Oregon estimated tax payments in order to generate penalties and interest. When I looked at the printed copy of my return, it included an extra page titled “Additional Information from your 2020 Oregon Tax Return” for Form OR-10, Explanation Statement for Line 34. It correctly listed the dates, amount paid, running balance, number of days, and penalty.

However, this page goes missing when I enter the actual estimated tax payments I made. Because I made the payments on time and in the correct amounts, no penalty or interest was due. But, it seems like Oregon would like to know when I made those payments and in what amounts so they can validate them. That can’t be done when the “See Stmt*” Form OR-10 refers to is missing.

This method of adding an additional page appears to be new this year. Last year, TurboTax put the payments, amounts, running balance, number of days, and interest due directly on Form OR-10 (as TaxAct still does for 2020). For 2020, TurboTax now puts them on a separate page. I’m sure that’s all well and good, but I think you need to include that separate page even when no penalty or interest is generated. Otherwise, you’ve lost the record of when the estimated payments were made and in what amount.

Can this issue be looked into further? Thank you.

I am having the exact same problem using TurboTax Premier for Windows 10.

I am having the same issue in my Windows 10 Home Turbotax Premier download. When I tried to work with support, the man suddenly announced his computer was frozen then promptly hung up. This was after searching around and not really having an answer for the bug. Yes, the Oregon OR-10 form has a bug and is not filling in the data. I have manually downloaded the latest update and still no go.

Someone at Intuit needs to forward this bug to the programming staff.
