NYS e-file ineligibility due to non-existent Solar and Wind Energy Credit carryovers

2022 TurboTax, during error fix, stated "Reason for NYS e-file ineligibility: Return claims a Solar and Wind Energy Credit carryover".

I have no such credit carryovers in all prior years.  There are no entries in this portion of the NYS interview.

Why am I not able to fix this fake error?

So to confirm your question, you can't e-file because there is a value for Solar and Wind energy credit that is inapplicable and can't seem to remedy it to e-file.

If that is the case, in the NY tax return, under credits look for Non-Refundable Credits. Hit update or show more.  You go through a few screens and if you see the 2nd screen  get rid of the zeros.

MAKE THESE BLANK! No zeros if not applicable.

I had the same issue with Turbotax this year and the whole process seemed overly complicated for my very basic return.  I never had a problem in previous years.

I didn't want to go through phone hell to speak to someone on the phone (having just spent 8 hours on the phone and hold in the 2 previous days dealing with a credit card fraud issue.) There should be an option to clear the form and start over, although from the comments here I would have hit the same block again.  Or the problem question(s) should be highlighted so one isn't searching for a needle in the hay stack.

I ended up filing with another online tax service as I just wanted the forms submitted. Federal and state went through without an issue.
