My W-2 states that it needs review because I did not select a state for Box 15. My state is not in the list but the system requires it anyway. What can I do?

If you cannot find your state on your list, please remove your entries in the State identification number box and Box 16. This should remove your error and you will be able to proceed with your tax return. If you have any amounts in Box 17 or Box 18, please verify with your employer to ensure it is correct. 

Several  states do not have a state income tax.  So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists.   Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.
