My W-2 list CA SDI in Section 14, but do not identify if it is "Excess" CA SDI Withheld." What does Excess CA SDI mean and Do I list the amount anyway?

Excess CA SDI is if you had more than 1 employer and all together they took out more than the max of $960.68.  Then you get the excess back on your California return as a refund.  Your employer wouldn't know that you have an excess.  If one  employer took out more than the $960.68 you have to get the different back from that employer.

Yes enter your W2 exactly as shown.  Is Turbo Tax saying you have an excess?

I had one employer who withheld $1,229.09 in CA-SDI.  This is above the Max CA SDI.  How do I report on CA form 540.
