My sales tax reported is 2428.75 the deduction allowed is only 314.24 Why is this???

Are you inputting receipts one at a time or taking the deduction for major purchases?

 

If major purchases, Are you putting in the correct price paid for you major purchase and the correct sales tax percentage for your area? 

TurboTax should be allowing the entire $2428.75.

 

 

 

 

If you itemize deductions on Schedule A, your total deduction for state and local income, sales and property taxes is limited to a combined, total deduction of $10,000 ($5,000 if married filing separately).  Did you already have some of these entered?
