My pension comes from my employment while in Indiana, but I moved to Florida in 2015. Why do I have to pay taxes from Indiana?

You pay state income tax based on where your reside, not from where your pension is issued.  If you were a Florida resident for all of 2016, then you do not owe Indiana state income tax on your pension disbursed by an Indiana-based company's pension plan.

However, if you were to have resided in Indiana for a portion of 2016, or during 2016 received certain other Indiana-sourced income, then you may owe a proportionate Indiana state income tax on that portion of your income received while an Indiana resident or from other Indiana-based sources.
