My taxpayer worksheet has just a middle initial with no period but my Oregon Information Sheet highlights an error of "taxpayer's initial has too many characters" with my middle initial with a period after it. I can not correct this error to efile this State of Oregon return. Any suggestions other then efile my federal return and mail in my State of Oregon return? Thanks for any assistance with this problem.
Please verify that your name matches what you have entered in the Personal Information section and what you have listed in your Intuit account. Also, try deleting your name and re-entering anywhere in the program you have entered it. Ensure there are no extra spaces before and after your name.
Deleted and reentered both taxpayer and spouse names without any periods in the personal information sheet. But still the State of Oregon return I am receiving the message "taxpayer's initial has too many characters" I also double checked my intuit account registration. Please advise. Thanks again.
You should remove the initial as it is not necessary. That may resolve your issue.
The software will not let me correct taxpayer's and spouse's middle initial without a period to allow efiling of our State of Oregon tax return. I did delete our both of our middle initials and reenter without avail. The actual State of Oregon OR-40 Individual Income Tax Return has both middle initials without any periods, so it looks fine to submit through the mail. Any further suggestions before I send the State of Oregon return in the mail?
