Moved states and jobs but old state says I owe thousands, when I only lived there 2 weeks - why?

I only worked my old employer in DC for 2 weeks in January 2015 before moving to VA and taking a new job (current employer). I marked that I need to file a partial return for both states, but TurboTax is showing that I owe DC taxes of over $5000, but I didn't even make that much during my two weeks of employment in the state. What am I doing wrong here? Or how is it not recognizing that my taxes from there on out went to the state of Virginia. For note, I filled out both state returns and nothing in these amounts really changed.

I assume your new job is in Virginia.  Most likely you have neglected to apportion your total income between DC and Virginia on the DC tax return.  Please return to the DC interview and go through it again.  You will eventually see a screen asking you to indicate how much of your total income was earned in DC.  After completing the DC return, go through the Virginia return interview again and make any needed corrections.

Please read on for more information.
