Married filing separately in DC if one spouse has no DC income

In 2024, I lived and worked in DC the entire year while my spouse lived and worked in another state (not Maryland or Virginia) and did not receive any income in DC. We're filing a joint federal return, and TurboTax suggests that we file as married filing separately for our DC state taxes (we were able to file jointly in the other state in which my spouse works). I've filled out the separate filing for my DC taxes, but does my spouse need to file separately in DC as well even though they did not receive any DC income? Or can we forego that separate filing because my spouse did not receive any taxable income in DC?

No need to file. Washington DC has no requirement to file a return without one of the listed reasons.
