Turbotax Deluxe brought me to the MA Circuit Breaker Credit so tried entering my info. It wants my landlords name/address. so I tentatively filled it in. Then it says I'm not eligible for the credit. So I deleted my landlords info--they shouldn't need it if I'm not eligible for the credit. But now trying to get past State Review, this missing info is considered 5 errors. How can I just skip the whole thing if I'm not eligible?
To delete Schedule CB:
As a senior citizen (65 or older before January 1, 2022), you may be eligible to claim a refundable credit on your Massachusetts personal income tax return.
The Circuit Breaker tax credit is based on the actual real estate taxes paid on the Massachusetts residential property you own or rent and occupy as your principal residence.
The maximum credit amount for tax year 2021 is $1,170. If the credit you're owed exceeds the amount of the total tax payable for the year, you'll be refunded the additional amount of the credit without interest.
Similar to the above, I started the MA Schedule CB form for my state taxes, and then decided that I did not want to include that form in my tax return, but I can't delete it. I am using the desktop Turbo Tax version (disk) and I when I go to the form and click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the screen, it does disappear from the state tax forms at the left of the screen, but when I then go through the review process again, I am told that I have 7 errors that need correction - all on MA CB form! I can't proceed. Very frustrating - how to fix? Thanks
