is personal exemption already included in my turbo tax state filing for Michigan state?

Yes. The Michigan personal exemptions will automatically be added to the state return. The amount for 2024 starts at $5,600 for the personal exemption and for each dependent. There may also be an additional exemption that you or someone in your household qualifies for. 

Per the State of Michigan, the additional exemptions are:

• $5,600 if you were the parent of a stillborn child delivered in 2024 and have a certificate of stillbirth from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. 
• $3,300 for each person or dependent in the household who is deaf, paraplegic, quadriplegic, hemiplegic, totally and permanently disabled, or blind. 
• $500 for each disabled veteran in the household.
