Iowa Health Insurance Premiums

On the federal part of my 2019 taxes my out of pocket medical expenses did not exceed 7.5% of my wages, so I could not deduct on Federal. However I spent 7% of my wages out of pocket in medical expenses for hospitalization, surgical fees, x-rays and prescription medicines. Can I list that amount on the Iowa State part where it asks to tell about your health insurance premiums?

On that screen it says not to include W-2 box 12 code DD premiums. It also says in blue on "health Insurance"  you can deduct insurance premiums that you paid to cover medical care, including hospitalization, surgical fees, X-rays, prescription medicines but if your employer withholds an amount from your paycheck that you don't pay tax on, you cannot take a deduction for it.

No, medical expenses are a deduction and are separate from reporting health insurance premiums paid separately from what was reported under Box 12 Code DD.

I am seeing Medical and Dental Expenses on the 2019 Schedule A must exceed 10% of wages still.
