Incorrect Postmark Information Preventing Filing of Indiana State Taxes

My Mac Version TurboTax is not reflecting my successful submission of my Federal Taxes...and thus preventing my ability to file my Indiana return.

My filing originally failed on the 17th of February due to a TurboTax/IRS computer issue.  I successfully refiled on the 21st of February and received an e-mail from Turbotax confirming the acceptance of my return by the IRS.  Unfortunately, the Postmark Form in the return file on my computer was not updated to show reflect this acceptance.

What do I need/who do I need to speak with to get the Postmark Form updated with the correct information on my computer?

Carissa:

unfortunately, I spent 5+ hours online with 4 different people on Saturday trying to get this issue corrected but talking to “experts” that didn’t really understand the issue.

I would prefer being referred to someone that can actually help me and not to another person that will not be able to help.

i need to talk to someone who can correct mike file so that it shows that my Federal Tax form has been submitted and accepted.

Hoping you can get me someone that can help.

You can try to follow these instructions to delete your Indiana state return and start it over. This may take you out of the loop you are stuck in.

You can check the status of the Federal return here. Does your Federal return show it has been processed? @JohnDLane

I tried that and also completely deleting Turbo Tax from my computer and reinstalling.

The issue is that my local data thinks my Federal Return was rejected and because of that it won’t let me file my Indiana return.

Who in your IT group can figure out why that information isn’t updating and fix it for me?

Doesn’t seem like that should be too hard and from reading the forums it doesn’t look like I alone with this issue.

Have you ensured the software is up to date on both your Mac OS as well as the Turbo Tax software?

The Turbo Tax software should be checking for an update if you close the software and reopen. @JohnDLane

When I was on the phone with a Turbotax rep last Saturday, he walked me through the procedure of completely removing turbotax from my machine, including clearing a bunch of info from library files and emptying them out of the trash.  I updated the Mac OS to the latest version and then he walked me through downloading a new copy of TurboTax.

It didn’t help.  I’ve now had my refunded deposited into my bank account but TurboTax still thinks my Federal Return was rejected and it won’t let me file my State return.

 I’m stuck.

Is there no one who can look at my file and fix my problem?

Thanks,

John
