Illinois State Tax Return question

I live in Michigan and started a part-time job for a company in Illinois during 2019.  Since I have never filed in Illinois before and do not have a Illinois state ID, I have to file a hard copy tax return.  My question is about the attachments of W-2's and 1099 forms to the return - do I just attach copies of the W-2 from the Illinois income, or do I need to also attach W-2's and 1099's for all of my income and activities that just relate to Michigan?

Thanks.

According to the Illinois Department of Revenue, you need to attach a completed Schedule IL-WIT and all withholding forms (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) to support the amount you claim as Illinois Income Tax withheld only. You do not need to send your Michigan income tax forms as well.

1099 forms include 1099-MISC, 1099R, 1099-DIV, and lots of others  What  1099 form need to be attached to the return?

Look at all your tax form and attach the forms that have IL taxes taken out. On your W2, if you see IL in box 15 or somewhere in the boxes after that, IL wages in box 16 and IL withholding in box 17, you will include a copy of that form with your IL tax return. For a 1099-MISC, if there's any state withholding, you will see it in boxes 16 and 17.  For all other forms, look for boxes that have state withheld and if the state says IL, you will attach the copies with IL withholding to the IL tax return.

Since you live in MI, it's highly probable that only your W2 has IL withholding but check all the forms.
