If you are a student living in another state other than home state, do you say you lived in more than one state if you had earned income in that state you went to school

In personal information of turbo tax, there is a question that asks if you lived in another state? Is the answer yes or no even if you made while at a part time job at school?

The student is considered to be away from his home state temporarily so would say No if their only time in that state was while a student.  They will also be asked if they earned money in another state and the answer to that would be Yes.  This way, they prepare a resident and nonresident tax return instead of two part-year resident returns.

Our student goes to college in IL, but we live in WI.   She worked in IL, but TurboTax is saying she has no refund due from IL.   Wouldn't she get that money back?  She also worked some in WI and gets a full refund for those taxes.
