If i rented a house(guarantor paid for), attended college, and worked in CA during 2024, am i considered a resident? does the renters credit section apply to me or no?

- filled out the federal taxes portion and seemed pretty straightforward with me as nonresident - confused on if i should fill out rent information at all

If you rented in California for more than half of the year and did not live with anyone who claimed you as a dependent a (and meet the other qualifications) you can claim the credit as a nonresident.  See Nonrefundable renter's credit - Franchise Tax Board - CA.gov
