If I am a Texas resident that never worked in Oklahoma but worked for a company based in Oklahoma, how do I account for the Oklahoma State Tax that is on my W-2?

And what do I do about the amount listed on my W-2 under Oklahoma State Tax? Turbo Tax talks about a Federal Schedule 1 but that does not apply since the amount was on my W-2 and not a 1099 form.

To clarify, are you a remote worker in Texas working for a company in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma does not tax remote workers living outside Oklahoma.

You would need to file a non-resident Oklahoma state return to get that tax withhold refunded.

Ask your employer to stop withholding Oklahoma tax.

If you never lived in or worked in OK in 2024, then you will need to file a nonresident OK state tax return showing $0 income to get the OK state taxes withheld refunded to you.

In the My Info section of the program, edit your personal information and where asked if you made money in any other state select Yes and then select Oklahoma as the state from the dropdown.  This will allow the program to give your the Oklahoma state tax return to work on.
