I work in MD, but live in WV. There is a box to the resident information to check MD taxes withheld in error. Program did not give me an option to check this box?

How can I fix this?

If you had withholding for MD even though you lived in WV, you'll have to file a return to get that money back. After you enter your information in the federal return, start your Maryland return.

Continue through the Maryland return, until you get to the screen Maryland Wage Income.  If you click the notice:

Special instructions for residents of DC, PA, VA or WV you will see

"For West Virginia residents: Regardless of time spent in Maryland, you should enter 0 (zero) as your Wages From Maryland Sources. You are exempt from Maryland tax on all of your Maryland wage and salary income, even if you earned the income from services performed in Maryland."

So enter -0- for the wages from MD. See the screenshot below. Continue through your Maryland return until you are finished. You should at that point be refunded all of your MD withholding.
