I work full time in NY city but live in a different state. I filed my state tax return and now NY state is asking me to submit IT-203B and other documents. How to proceed

The way TT filed my state tax return, I am getting a refund from NY state on the taxes withheld since I’m not a resident but I do work full time in office in NY city. Now NY Tax Dept has asked to me provide W-2, compete an income allocation questionnaire and also fill and submit IT-203B and 203F. How to proceed?

If you work full-time in NYC, you have to allocate 100% of your wages as NY-sourced income on the state screens. You shouldn't be getting a refund of all your tax withheld in this scenario. It is likely that NYS doesn't agree with your allocation on your original IT-203 and wants your backup documentation to determine your tax liability. Please provide NYS with the questionnaire and forms requested.
