@Myagravis You have added on to someone else's thread that is already full of add-on posts. We have no idea what state you are seeking a rent rebate for since you did not name your state. We cannot help unless you can be more specific about your issue. It would be better to start your own new thread instead of tacking on to an old one populated by so many other possibly unrelated questions
It depends.
Your ability to claim the renter's credit depends upon which state you reside in and if they offer the credit. The IRS does not have a renter's credit.
TurboTax will ask you questions as you prepare your return. If you have indicated you rented in your state interview section, the program will determine if you qualify for a renter's credit and will generate the form as applicable.
Be aware any renter's credit is used to offset tax liabilities. It is not refundable.
If you have additional questions, please comment with your state so we can assist you further.
To get to the Property Tax Credit, please follow the instructions below:
The Missouri Property Tax Credit Claim gives credit to certain senior citizens and 100 percent disabled individuals for a portion of the real estate taxes or rent they have paid for the year. The credit is for a maximum of $750 for renters and $1,100 for owners who owned and occupied their home. The actual credit is based on the amount of real estate taxes or rent paid and total household income (taxable and nontaxable). If you rent from a facility that does not pay property taxes, you are not eligible for a Property Tax Credit.
Please see Missouri Property Tax Credit Qualification Chart for more information.

U How do I file my rental rebate?
There are 43 states which have a some type of income tax. Which state are you referring to?
A "rent rebate" is usually part of your state income tax refund that come from filing a state income tax return. If your state has a rental credit, it will come up in the state interview.
As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin. https://www.rent.com/blog/states-with-a-renters-tax-credit/
For more specific advice, you need to identify your state.
New Jersey's ANCHOR Program is not something that is filed with your taxes, it is applied for separately. Click here for more information on the Anchor program.
