I want to claim a credit on a New York State form (IT-237) that TurboTax doesn't support. Do I need to submit my whole NY return on paper? Will NY let me do that?

Or should I e-file now and submit an amendment on paper?

If the form says its Unsupported, it means that it is not supported by TurboTax, and you wont be able to file it electronically, instead you will have to print and mail it with the whole return.

We recommend you to print the return and mail it with all necessary forms and supporting documentation.

Thanks.  I've downloaded the form and filled it out; I hope New York allows me to file on paper.  How do I change the numbers that TurboTax filled in in the PDF -- cross them off and hand-write the correct numbers on the printout?

Or I guess I could download the fillable PDF from the State and copy all the numbers from my TurboTax-generated form into it... yuck...
