I purchased a house in SC - not my primary residence My primary residence is in NM where I have filed a state tax return. Do I need to file a state tax return for SC?

I use my home in SC for a place to stay when I travel.

If your place in SC is a vacation home, then no you do not need to file an SC tax return unless you are earning income while you are there.

However, if you earn income while at your home in SC, then you would need to file a return for that state.
