I'm on the "Minnesota Credits" page and Turbo Tax automatically checks the box, "Paid Minnesota alternative minimum tax in a prior year". Can't move past it!

If I do, it then asks me about a 2019 Federal Form 6251 and there's only a "Yes" or "No" option to choose from.

The 6251 is the federal form for Alternative Minimum tax. You can look at your last year forms to see if you have the Form 6251 in your federal return from last year.

  • If it is there, click yes.
  • If not, click no.

There have been no new developments in how the form is used this year. See
