I'm filing a final tax return for my deceased mother. Do I enter my own drivers license number for the ID section?

No, you would either have to use her driver's license number or leave the entry blank. If you are unable to e-file without the driver's license, you will have to file the return by mail.

The driver's license number is an added security measure the IRS and States put in place for 2016 but for most states your return can be filed and will process without your driver's license number. Since it is a security measure, the driver's license you enter must match to the taxpayer's SSN
