I'm a college student in Tennessee and a resident in Alabama. I worked part time during the summer in Alabama and Tennessee during school. How do I file state taxes?

TN has no state income tax so there is nothing for you to file for TN.  You need to file a federal return and an AL return.   What is the rejection message you are getting?

Remember that your resident state of Alabama can tax all your income, including your earnings from Tennessee.
