I lived & worked in a different state (WI) from my husband for most of the year, but now we live in the same state (MN). Do I need to file my state taxes in WI or in MN?

He worked and lived in Minnesota all year, and I worked and lived in Wisconsin for the first 8 months. My W-2s are from Wisconsin. We both lived in Minnesota by December 31, 2016. Do I file as a Minnesota or Wisconsin state resident?

Yes, you will need to do a part-year state income tax return filing for both WI and MN.

Since you and your spouse were residents of different states during the 2016 tax year, you would still be able to file your federal income taxes jointly but you would need to file your state income taxes as married filing separately.
