I live in Pennsylvania and work in Delaware and owe $2k to Pennsylvania

As the title says, I reside in PA and work in DE. For 2020, I owe PA $1,980 in taxes. I make $66k per year. Is this normal? Am I missing something? Is there anything that I can do to not pay this? I feel like PA is ripping me off.

Thank you.

You must file a non-resident DE tax return in addition to your home state PA return.  You'll be able to claim a credit amount on your PA return for the taxes paid to DE on the income that is taxed by both states.  But you must prepare the non-resident DE return first, before you do your PA return, in order for TurboTax to calculate and apply the credit correctly.

And what happens if I already started federal, PA then DE? Sounds like I did it out of order. Do I delete and restart the states? Or is there a way to get it fixed so it’ll calculate correctly?

If you wish, you can delete your state returns and start over.  See this TurboTax help reference:

Hello,

Sorry to piggyback off of this but I'm stuck with a similar situation. I moved from DE to PA in March of 2020, but still work in DE. I'm not sure how to go about filing for both states.
