You didn't mention if you finally moved to SC during the year or simply continued to travel back and forth.

No, there isn't a minimum state tax amount you have to pay in GA. The amount of taxes you pay is based on your GA sourced income. If you owe GA income tax, it may be because:

You can't change the return before it is accepted. You will have to wait until it is processed and then file an amended return to correct it if necessary. You have a state tax issue, so your federal tax return should not be affected, so it is not an issue with the IRS.

You my be due a credit for taxes paid to South Carolina on your Georgia tax return. What you should do is wait until your state tax returns are processed, then go into TurboTax and prepare an amended Georgia return. You will see an option for this on your Tax Home page when you log into TurboTax, and then under Your tax returns and documents

Work through your Georgia return and look for an option in the Credit section for a Credit for taxes paid to another state and complete that section.

Please clarify. Did you get a SC W-2 or have self-employment income after you filed your income tax return? Do you need to file a SC state income tax return?

Hello, thank you for your reply. I apologize the question seemed to be cut off unbeknownst to me.

I was stating that I am a resident of Georgia and worked in Georgia towards the beginning of June. While still living in Georgia I started  working in South Carolina solely around June  so I would travel back and forth. I did receive W-2's from both states. I recently filed and the Federal was accepted with GA & SC state status pending.  I owe on my Georgia state tax, but wondering why when I've never owed before? Is there a minimum state tax amount in Ga I'm expected to meet in order to not owe?

I continue to travel back and forth, working in South Carolina only. Even though I've filled State is there a way I can review the return again before it's accepted?  Otherwise would the IRS accept it with a potential error even though Turbo Tax " checked for accuracy" before I filed?
