Pretty sure I've seen a line if I've got any local tax ie. State income tax.
Yes, when I entered the w2 and it clearly was not the California tax return if im trying to write off the California state income tax.
Yes, box $1588, $6359, and $80. I am doing an amended return for a job I did one week of work for and the w2 was sent to my old address.

Just enter the figures on your W2 into the program exactly as they are shown on the W2. CASDI might be in the Local boxes 18-20
You just enter the W2 as shown. Be sure to pick CA in box 15. The CA withholding in box 17 can be a federal Itemized Deduction. Also if you have CA SDI enter it in box 14 in case they put it in box 19. You need to move it. SDI is also a Deduction.
But there is a new rule Nd limit for deducting state taxes. It's called SALT. SALT is State And Local Tax. Which includes property tax, any state tax paid like for last year’s return and includes any state withholding from your W2s and any 1099s you have. And any taxes in W2 box 14 and 19 like SDI or VDI. You can only deduct up to 10,000 (5,000 MFS) for SALT State and Local Taxes.
And Deductions for job expenses have been suspended with the new tax act. See Deductions that have been suspended for 2018
