I live in a Maryland suburb of Washington DC and got some 1099-Misc income in DC. I just filed my MD Tax Return, but Turbo Tax is not asking me for my DC Tax Return, why?

I interrupted answering questions on my MD-State Return last night because I was sleepy. When I entered the TurboTax website this morning it started by asking me questions about my DC-State Tax Return. I clicked "State" on the left column to go back to my MD Return and finished it, and now it is not asking me again about any DC Tax Return, it just wants to file both my MD Return and my Federal Return. Why is this?

You only have to file a DC return if you were a DC resident (unless you need to get back any DC taxes withheld by your employer).

You should include the income from Form 1099-MISC in your federal return and it should flow to the MD return.
