I live and work in oregon. My spouse lives n works in washington. Can i file my federal jointly but oregon as seperate? To not pay oregon tax on his income since its wash

I tried filing and i get a refund if i file seperately. But filing together i owe

You can file separately for Oregon. In fact, taxpayers must use the married filing separately status if filing separate returns for Oregon due to different residency statuses.

So in can select jointly on federal and seperately  for oregon without any penalties?
