I became a CA resident in 2023 after moving from PA. I was previously a CA resident in 2021 before moving to PA. what do I put for "were you a CA resident before 2023"?

For additional details. I previously lived and worked in CA until I moved to PA in 2021. I am unsure how far back these questions want to go. Do i say Yes to being a CA Resident before 2023? Additionally, "did you enter CA before 2023" and "Did you leave California before 2023". My thought for all three of these questions is technically "Yes" however, I am unsure if this is needed

Answer the questions "yes" if that is correct. Depending on how you respond, TurboTax may ask additional questions to establish which is your resident state.

Residency rules vary from state to state. For example, if you spend more than a certain number of days in some states, you're considered a resident even if you were not living in the state for very long.

It's best to check with your state Department of Revenue for specific residency rules, especially as they apply to your particular situation. In the meantime, use the following examples as a general guideline. See this help article for more information.
