I am a full-time resident of LA, but work as a remote employee for a company based in SC. How does this affect my taxes? Taxes were withheld for SC

I am trying to avoid being double taxed. I also earned 1099 NEC income. Does all income go on my Louisiana resident return? When asked how much income goes to South Carolina, would I select $0 since it is a remote role?

Since taxes were withheld for South Carolina, you will need to file a non-resident South Carolina return in order to get a refund of those withholdings.  None of the income should be attributed to South Carolina since you did not physically work in the state.

Since you physically worked in Louisiana, all of your income will be reported on the Louisiana state return.  You should contact your employer to get Louisiana taxes withheld instead of South Carolina moving forward.
