How to exclude the months not living in Massachusetts for health insurance coverage

Hi, MA state tax has this Minimum Creditable Coverage health insurance requirement.

I was not living in MA for 3 months between jobs.

In turbotax, is there a way to exclude the months that i was abroad, so as to avoid the health insurance penalty ?

Thanks !

A little bit update, in the very beginning, turbotax asks your state of residency.

The problem is it asks when you becoming a new residency of a foreign country, it didn't ask for the end of that residency.

I do have some form of health insurance in the foreign since i needed to see doctor, but no subscriber info like the ones from 1099-HC, what should i do ?

You cannot indicate that you were not  a Massachusetts resident in TurboTax.  You would have to indicate that you had a Certificate of Exemption for 2024 and provide the number the Massachusetts Health Connector provides.

According to Massachusetts:

"If you were living out of the state (a nonresident of Massachusetts), and thus filed your income tax return in the state you lived in, you aren't subject to the mandate. However, to avoid penalties in the future, you should contact the Massachusetts Health Connector at (877) 623-6765, TTY number at (877) 623-7773, or visit them online."
