How do I remove a 1098 from the New York tax return (I moved to Virginia; 1098 is for home purchased Virginia) without removing it from my federal return?

I moved to Virginia in 2024. I have two 1098s, one for the home I sold in 2024 in NY, and the one I bougt in VA. Both should be on federal, but only one of each should reflect in each states tax return.

You do not have to remove the home mortgage from the Virginia home from your New York Itemized deductions and vice versa- New York and Virginia allow home mortgage deduction regardless of where the home is located.
