How do I fix a double abbreviation on state tax. It says I can’t have two state abbreviations in box 15 but I do not

To fix this, you need to go back to the W-2 forms in the federal return.

Login to your TurboTax Account and continue your return.

  1. Select Federal on the left
  2. Under Income & Expenses, the top section will be Job (W-2), click Add/ Edit on the right.
  3. You will get to a screen that says Here's Your W-2 info, select the W-2 that is causing the error, if you are not sure which one is causing the problem, start with the first one.
  4. Select Edit/Add to the right.
  5. Scroll down to box 15, clear and then re-enter the state abbreviation.
  6. Click Continue until you return to  Here's Your W-2 info, repeat if necessary.
  7. Select Review and Continue.

You can try deleting the W-2 entry and then re-enter it. Make sure you just enter two letters for the state abbreviation in box 15.

I did that also, it doesn't work. I need to speak to some one from turbotax. I shouldn't have to pay for something they claim to be free because their system is faulty
