How do I file the DE-4 Form: Employee's withholding Allowance Certificate if one is single, and first time working?

I'm having trouble filing for the DE-4 Form seeing that this is my first time getting a job.

Simply put, I'm confused on how to file this form  because the questions don't relate to my situation:

I am single

No dependents

No income as of yet since I am in the process of being hired to my first job.

Can anyone help me? I believe its the California DE-4 Form.

The Form DE 4 is the form that tells your employer how much tax to withhold from your new job, so it should be filled out before you start work.

  1. If you are single, under Filing Status check Single or Married (with two or more incomes).
  2. On line 1a, enter 1 for the Number of Regular Withholding Allowances (Worksheet A) because you are single. If you want a larger refund, enter 0.
  3. On line 1b enter 0
  4. On line 1c enter 1
