The renter's credit is entered on your state return. What state do you rent in?
Towards the very end (and I mean the end) of the TurboTax interview for Minnesota, you will see a screen with the heading of "Other forms you may need". Check that you will need "Property Tax Refund (Form M1PR)".
Hit Continue; the next screen(s) will ask for the information needed to complete the form M1PR.
RENT
There is not a rent deduction or credit on your Federal return. If your state has anything for renters you will be prompted to enter your rent info when you complete your state return. As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.
Arkansa does not have a rent credit.
So if I have already filed taxes do I have to mail in my renters rebate because I'm confused on how to get back to where you are talking about right now.
Most likely, but please clarify -- what state are you referring to in relation to the renter’s credit?
There are several states mentioned in the posts above yours.
Arkansas doesn't have any type of renter's rebate or credit that's associated with your tax return.
It's possible that you're referring to agencies in Arkansas that provide rental assistance. See the Department of Human Services' Rental Assistance Available For Eligible Arkansans Affected By COVID-19 page for more information.
