How do I enter a figure on 1040 Schedule 1 line 24 h (Adjustments to income)? TurboTax desktop allows me to see the form but not enter any adjustments.

I need to make adjustment to income reported on 1099-NEC. How do I do that? When I open the correct form (Schedule 1) it won't let me put in a number.

What adjustments are you needing to make?  If you are entering expenses associated with a 1099-NEC you would enter them on schedule C.  There are a number of adjustments that could be made otherwise but it depends on what the adjustment is for as to where you would enter it.

They were legal expenses in getting back wages in a lawsuit.

Unfortunately, legal expenses for personal issues are not deductible from gross income.  That is just seen by the IRS as how you spent the money that you received.

Here is an article on the deductibility of legal expenses.

Telephone Turbo Tax Customer Support and try to get Renee.  She walked me through where to enter MISC income and expenses so that I could deduct ELIGIBLE legal fees.  This community chat system merely parrots back stock general information rather than answering questions.
