How do I double check my state of residency

You can check your state residency in the federal personal section and in the state summary screen. To check the residency entered in the personal section (which will trigger the state return selected) login and follow the steps below:

1. Click 'Take me to my return'
2. Next, select the 'Personal' tab
   
3. As you scroll down, next to your name you'll see "Resident State," click 'Edit' next to this section to change it.
   
4. Scroll down to question number 2 and you can edit your response
   

To check the residency of your state return, login and follow the steps below:

1. Click 'Take me to my return'
2. Next, select the 'State Taxes' tab and click 'Continue' on the next screen
3. Here, you'll see 'Status on your state returns' and under the 'Type of Return' column it will say resident or other type of residential state for that state
