How do I claim renters deduction on State Federal ?

I rent a room in a house. Can I claim that as a deduction on my taxes?

Rent paid for a personal residence on a federal return is not deductible as is rent paid for business purposes.

Some states offer a rental credit for a personal residence. If your state is one of them, you will see rent related questions on your state interview
