How do I choose state residency? I am employed in NC and have lived there for the past year, but my driver's license, voter registration and mail is in IL.

Please explain why you are still receiving mail in IL if you have lived in NC for a year. Are you a college student? Are you in NC for school, with parents still in IL? Are you claimed as a dependent by someone in IL?
