Every time I open TurboTax it checks for updates (I've got it set to automatic). It insists on downloading and updating NC state forms when I don't live there, don't earn income there, and don't file there. I once had a mailing address there, and had to file a return to show I earned no income there, but that was years ago. I want TurboTax to stop wasting my time and hard drive space - stop downloading useless forms.

One user said…… The list of states that you used is stored on your computer. When you get a new computer it starts over with an empty list. Getting a new computer is the only way I know of to get rid of the unwanted states.
