How can i get my taxes back from a city i use to live in 18 monthsago ? Ex. I use to live in Reynoldsburg, OH But i moved to Columbus, OH 18 months ago

Ex. I used to live in Reynoldsburg Over 18 months ago but i Been moved to Columbus OH, how do i get those taxes back ?

I assume your employer continued to withhold Reynoldsburg city (not school district) income tax. If you continued to work in Reynoldsburg , after the move, your employer was correct in withholding that. You cannot get it back. But Columbus will give you a credit for what you paid the work location city, when you file your Columbus City return, as a resident.


If you did not work in Reynoldsburg, you will need to contact RITA (the agency that administers Reynoldsburg income tax) for the proper form for claiming a refund https://www.ritaohio.com/Individuals/Home/Refunds . Talk to your employer about changing the withholding., so this doesn’t happen every year.
